An average image with a resolution of 6944 x 9248 pixels is about
11.6MB, and a picture with a resolution of 3075 x 4096 pixels is about 1.4MB.
This new feature allows you to select a high-quality photo and send it in the
same quality, and the recipient can download it in the same quality. If you
send in standard photo quality, the company will send pictures with an average
quality of 1201 x 1600 pixels and 204KB of better quality than WhatsApp.
While the difference between these images is not necessarily obvious, the signal is a good thing to allow its user to share a high-quality picture.
